Screen Actor Guild Predictions

The Screen Actor Guild Award nominations are arriving tomorrow. We have seen the New York Critic nominee’s and Critic Choice Awards nominee’s. Tyler and I agree and disagree with some nominations. We are hoping the SAG won’t leave some of our favorites out this time.
Speaking of favorites, here are the shows we wish will get nominated but probably won’t:
1. Community- This quirky, different comedy can’t get an audience like Modern Family so it never gets love. Even though the acting is brilliant.
2. The Walking Dead- They had a phenomenal season but can they get through other great dramas performances like, Homeland, Breaking Bad and Mad Men
3. Parks and Recreation- Amy Poehler will get nominated for Best Actress but Parks will be shut out of the other categories.
Shows that possibly have a chance of getting nominated that haven’t gotten love before or are new:
1. Justified- Nominated for Emmy’s it should be a shoe in for at least one category
2. Girls – This show is fantastic and we’re both excited about the new season premiering in January!
3.VEEP- Julia Louis Dreyfus she hasn’t been this funny since Seinfeld
Shows we wish wouldn’t get nominated
1. Modern Family – stop over powering the category, you’re not even that good!
2. Glee – Ugh.
3. The Big Bang Theory – “Sitcoms” should vanish.
Shows we love that get nominated:
1. Breaking Bad
2. Homeland
3. Mad Men
4. Game of Thrones
5. American Horror Story
6. Boardwalk Empire
7. We would love to put a comedy on this list!
Onto the movies, we haven’t seen all the contenders. So, out of what Tyler and I have seen, here is the list of actors and ensemble we wish will get nominated that probably won’t:
1. Seven Psychopaths- Sam Rockwell better get a Best Supporting Actor nominee. The whole psychopaths deserve an ensemble nomination.
2. Perks of Being a Wallflower-  The actors were great. The actors are mostly young. The actors will probably go unnoticed.
3. Cloud Atlas- The acting of Ben Whishaw should not be overlooked.
4. Killing Them Softly – Tyler really liked this movie! The acting was awesome!
5. Flight – Molly didn’t like it but loved Denzel Washington’s perfromance.
Actors we would be happy to get nominations:
1. The Master- Joaquin Phoenix AND Philip Seymour Hoffman
2. Moonrise Kingdom- The young cast and the adult cast played off each other well and made us laugh. Ensemble nomination is a most!
3  Silver Lining Playbook- Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro they both played crazy, crazy!
Actors we wish wouldn’t get love:
1. Lincoln- Everyone, except Daniel Day Lewis.
2. Silver Linings Playbook- Jennifer Lawrence! Read my review to learn why.
3. Skyfall- Just NO.
We still need to see:
Les Misérable
Django Unchained
Life of Pi
The Impossible
Beast of the Southern Wild
The Sessions
